Geothermal drilling rig
The most powerful drilling rig from KLEMM for near-surface and medium-depth geothermal energy. With 250 kW engine power, 9 separate hydraulic circuits, 220 kN pullback force, on-board mud pump and on-board loading crane it is optimally designed for cased and uncased drilling using either the deep-hole hammer or flushing drilling method.
Heat-loop bores for shallow shallow and medium-deep geothermal energy
Power, efficiently distributed
With an engine output of 250 kW, the KR 717-3GW drilling rig is specially designed for geothermal projects with greater drilling depths. The newly developed hydraulic system includes nine separate hydraulic circuits. Digitally controlled pumps are used as the main pumps (Bosch eOC technology). The proven EEP technology (EEP=Energy-Efficient Power) is also provided as standard in this rig type. The pump output automatically adapts to the respective operating or load situation (power sharing) and the engine rpm is automatically reduced to the minimum possible value. This benefits fuel consumption and noise emission.
Stronger and bigger
The newly developed drill mast has a pulling force of 220 kN. The feed system comprises a sensitive hydraulic weight-on-bit control. It is possible to drill with rod lengths of up to 6 m (e.g. 2x 3m). Additionally, the drilling rig comes with a newly developed triple clamping and breaking device (Type 10), for diameters of up to 254 mm. This includes a recovery function (400 mm stroke and max. 175 kN pulling force).
New double-head drive
The double-head design is new. It includes the new KH 47 and KH 17 rotary heads, which can be equipped with a variety of motor types. It also has a newly designed preventer, which is mounted in front of the double head unit and has a hydraulic lateral sliding sled (600 mm). A patent application has been filed for the innovative tandem slide.
Equipment for mud drilling
The drill rig can be equipped with a powerful flushing pump, which can be lowered hydraulically to the ground. To counteract the buoyancy in the borehole created through the ground water, and to facilitate the installation of the geothermal loop, there is the option to install a hoisting winch, (300 m cable capacity), and a cat head when working with weighting rods.
Safe operation
The radio remote control, used for all drilling, driving and setup functions, is designed in accordance with EN 16228, which enables ergonomic operation of the drilling rig and the best view of the drilling point. The KR 717-3GW complies with EN 16228, whereby the modes “SPM” (Special Protective Mode) used for working without a protective guard under special circumstances, and “ROM” (Restricted Operation Mode) used when manually changing the drill rods, are available.
The HBR 182 handling system has been enhanced. The new tilt function simplifies the levelling of slopes and the rig transport. The HBR 182 supports the handling of the rods whilst the hydraulic loading crane ensures the safe handling of the geothermal probe reel. Four hydraulic jacks ensure the stability of the drill rig.
